Lithuanian practice, ready when you are

Learning Lithuanian often means knowing more than you feel ready to say. You might recognise a phrase in a lesson, then struggle to find it when someone asks you a question.

Kalbukas gives you a place to practise those moments. Short speaking missions help you work through everyday situations, from ordering a coffee to greeting family or asking for help. With the iOS app, you can keep that practice close at hand on your iPhone.

Speak, listen, and try again

Hold the microphone button, say your answer in Lithuanian, and release it when you are done. Kalbukas shows your words as text and replies in Lithuanian, with audio so you can hear the response as well as read it.

If you get stuck, translations help you understand the conversation and suggestions give you a way to keep going. You do not need a perfect sentence to take another turn.

Try a simple introduction for your first practice:

Labas, aš dar mokausi lietuviškai.

It means: "Hi, I am still learning Lithuanian."

Say it slowly, listen to the reply, and see where the conversation goes.

Make room for one small conversation

You do not need to set aside a whole evening. Pick a quiet moment, choose a situation you want to feel more comfortable in, and practise a few turns out loud. Coming back to a useful phrase can help it feel more familiar when you need it in real life.
